Emler Swim Art Our Program
The Emler Swim School staff is trained to help your child succeed at swimming lessons!Children cannot learn...if they are not happy. Emler Swim School is all about students having fun while they are developing swim skills. We provide a non-threatening and nurturing environment, full of creative teaching methods to ensure that each student is comfortable and confident in the water. So give your child the Emler advantage, where love makes the difference.

Small group and private lessons are available during both daytime and evening hours.

The entire Emler staff is trained to make your child's lessons a tender, cherished time where you can watch in comfort as a new, aquatic world is introduced to your child.

There are few age barriers in the wonderful, lifesaving sport of swimming. Students participating in lessons at Emler can be as young as six months or as old as 100 years. The Waterbaby classes at Emler involve the gentle support of the parents in classes of games, songs and loving swimming techniques.

All levels of instruction spring from Emler's award-winning curriculum SwimScript©, which is constantly updated with the newest techniques to keep Emler Swim School on the cutting edge of aquatic education.

Waterbaby classes are available at Emler Swim School to help your infant learn how to swim!(4 Programs and 17 Levels)

WATERBABIES PROGRAM
A parent and child class for babies and toddlers under the age of three. The program Waterbabies has four levels:
• Waterbabies
• Advanced Waterbabies
• Super Waterbabies
• X-treme Waterbabies

Waterbabies Level - WB
A parent participation class for babies ages six to 35 months with no skills in the water. Little ones will learn eight to 10 second underwater breath control. Songs and games are used to teach parents how to teach their babies to swim at a pace agreeable to both parent and child.

Advanced Waterbabies Level - AWB
Babies who have 8-10 second breath control are considered Advanced Waterbabies and learn to move three (3) feet through the water. Advanced Waterbabies still benefit from the loving presence of their parents in swim class and are taught in the same classes with Waterbabies.

Super Waterbabies Level - SWB
This level is designed for two year olds who can move three (3) feet through the water. Parents still assist in the water in the beginning of this class but are quickly weaned from the class and watch their children from the deck. Children increase their distance to moving 7 feet through the water and are introduced to rollover breathing.

X-treme Waterbabies Level - XWB
Two year olds who are capable of moving seven (7) feet independently are challenged in this class to move ten (10) feet through the water and perform rollover breathing. Parents are required to stay on deck to help guard their children from the deck.

Infants can learn to swim during our infant swimming lessons. AQUATOTS PROGRAM
Aquatots is a program designed just for three year olds. This class captures the child’s imagination through the use of daily themes while teaching children submersion, breath control and destination swimming. The program Aquatots has four levels:
• Aquatots
• Advanced Aquatots
• Super Aquatots
• X-treme Aquatots.

Aquatots Level - AQ
A program for three year olds who cannot swim without floatation. Daily themes and games entertain these children while they learn to happily move through the water for five (5) feet.

Advanced Aquatots Level - AAQ
A class for three year olds who already move five (5) feet through the water. Daily themes and games continue to Each Emler Swim School lesson is tailored to create the best learning environment for each age group.entertain the children as they learn to swim ten (10) feet and start to get a rollover breath while swimming.

Super Aquatots Level - SAQ
A class for three year olds who already swim ten (10) feet. Daily themes and games are used as the children learn to swim 15 feet while getting a rollover breath. Front breathing is also introduced.

X-treme Aquatots Level - XAQ
A class for three year olds who already swim 15 feet. Daily themes and games make swim class fun as the children are challenged to swim 20 feet while getting a rollover breath. Front breathing is also improved at this level.


BEGINNERS PROGRAM
The Beginners Program was designed for children aged four (4) years and older. This program emphasizes the important foundational skills of floating, gliding, stroking, and kicking by utilizing drill formats. The Beginners students will swim required distances using proper form and except for Preschool Beginners, master independent breathing. The Beginners Programs consists of five (5) levels:

• Preschool Beginners
• Beginners
• Advanced Beginners
• Super Beginners
• X-treme Beginners

Preschool Beginners Level - PB
A class for four and five year olds who cannot swim. Daily themes create fun-filled lessons to teach the children how to swim five feet.

Beginners Level - Beg
The Beginners Level is for six year olds and up who cannot swim without floatation. The goal at this level is to swim ten (10) Emler Swim School creates fun-filled lessons to make learning to swim fun!feet getting one front breath independently.

Advanced Beginners Level - AB
Advanced Beginners is a program for four year olds and up who already swim five (5) feet. The goal of this course is to teach the students to swim 20 feet with one front breath.

Super Beginners Level - SB
A course for four year olds and up who already swim 20 feet and are able to get one independent breath. The goal of this class is to swim 40 feet while getting several independent breaths.

X-treme Beginners Level - XB
A course for four year olds and up who can swim 40 feet and get several breaths. The goal is for the student to swim the elementary backstroke 40 feet and also swim the freestyle stroke with rolling breaths for 40 feet.

SWIMMERS PROGRAM

The Swimmers Program introduces and refines the four competitive swim strokes including proper starts and turns. These advanced swimmers will learn endurance alongside proper technique. Some safety skills, snorkeling skills and synchronized swimming skills are also introduced. The Swimmers Program consists of four (4) levels:

• Swimmers Level
• Advanced Swimmers Level
• Super Swimmers Level
• X-treme Swimmers LevelSwimming lessons for kids is Emler Swin School's specialty.

Swimmers Level - SWM
Course for five year olds & up who can already perform rollover breathing and elementary backstroke for 40 feet. The final goal of Swimmers Level is for students to demonstrate the proper freestyle stroke with unilateral rhythmic breathing for 80 feet and the competitive backstroke 40 feet.

Advanced Swimmers Level - AS
Class for six year olds and up who can perform freestyle with rhythmic breathing 80 feet and competitive backstroke 40 feet. The course goal is to swim freestyle with bilateral rhythmic breathing 80 feet and also swim the breaststroke 80 feet.

Super Swimmers Level - SS
A class for students six years and up who can swim freestyle with bilateral rhythmic breathing and swim breaststroke. The final goal is for students to swim the competitive backstroke for 80 feet and the butterfly stroke for 80 feet.

X-treme Swimmers Level - XS
A class for children six years and up who can already swim the four competitive strokes. Students will fine tune their technical skills of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and learn proper starts and turns. Some safety skills, snorkeling skills and synchronized swimming skills are also introduced.  


SWIM TEAM PROGRAM - TEAM

Recreational Swim Team is a class for 6 year olds and up who are able to swim at least two competitive swim strokes 160 feet (two laps of the pool). Coaches work on swimming starts, turns, endurance and stroke perfection. This is not a format to teach students new strokes. Students swim one hour per week.

PRIVATE LESSONS PROGRAM

Private Lessons provide one-on-one instruction and consist of three different levels:
• Private Lessons
• Semi-Private Lesson
• Privates On Demand

Private Lessons - PVT
Private Lessons are classes that provide one-on-one instruction designed to meet the needs of the individual participant.

Semi Private Lessons - SPVT
Semi-Private Lessons are lessons for two or more students designed to cater to each individual student's needs.

On Demand Private Lessons – ODPVT
On Demand Private Lessons cater to the scheduling needs of busy parents. The same, personalized teaching is provided in a customized schedule.

ADULT PROGRAM - ADULT
Adult Classes are designed for teenagers through adults of various skills. Classes will teach to each individual student's needs.

DATE NIGHT PROGRAM – DATE NIGHT
Date Night is a special event where children four and up swim, have a snack or meal, and enjoy a movie.

DAY CAMP PROGRAM – DAY CAMP
Day Camp is a special event where children spend time swimming, snacking, making crafts, playing games, and participating in other child friendly activities.

EVALUATION LESSONS PROGRAM - EVAL Emler Swim School teaches children swimming lessons.
Evaluation Lessons are free 5 - 10 minute lessons designed to assess the skills of a swimmer.

GROUP SPECIAL PROGRAM - GROUP
Group Special Lessons are pre arranged lessons for schools or other groups who are invited to swim together at a predetermined scheduled time.

WATERBABY ORIENTATION PROGRAM - WBO
Waterbaby Orientation is an opportunity for parents and their children ages six to 35 months to visit Emler Swim School to participate in a free Waterbaby class.


COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM
When your child is ready to compete at a more advanced level, Emler Swim School recommends the Fort Worth Area Swim Team (FAST) competitive swim program.  FAST is a member of USA Swimming.  To find out more, go to www.fastswimming.org.  Tryouts are required.  Your swimmer will need demonstrate their stroke technique for a FAST coach.  The swimmer will swim 25 yards each of the four competitive swim strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle - also known as the crawl stroke).  The swimmer will be required to complete 25 yards of backstroke and freestyle without stopping to be considered for the team.  The coaches will look for proficiency more than speed.  The team practices at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center (WGAC) near I-20 and Wichita Street (between 287 and I-35) in East Fort Worth.  FAST is the age-group team of 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Dana Vollmer.
